God I'm Hopeless at this

Tuesday, 6 October 2009
A family portrait i shot a week or so ago, the original shot was great and actually purchased as a canvas. I thought it could be spiced up a bit to literally give it a bit more angle. So I transformed the picture into a rubik's cube. The client also liked it.I have been asked a few times about tutorials so have added a page to my website on photoshop tutorials. Hopefully you will find them easy to follow and create some nice artwork of your own.
Check my website http://www.davidbousfield.org/ for the progress of the tutorials
Thanks

Wedding and Andy
Great North Run
Last weekend saw another record breaking crowd pound the streets from Newcastle to South Shields. My wife I am proud to say was one of them and she did extremely well clocking a time of 2hrs and 1min, a personal best. Which seems even stranger to say as it is only her second half marathon. She bettered her last time for the 13.1 mile course by over 20 minutes - an achievement in it's own right. So well done to all those who made the yearly pilgrimage, and see you next year for the 30th anniversary run - it'll be a biggie!!!Thursday, 17 September 2009
Zoe and Damian were married at Matfen Hall, Northumberland. Friends and family witnessed a very personal service and celebrated with a reception afterwards. A truly lovely couple whose family and friends could not speak of highly enough. The rain held off as predicted by the bride, we finished the outdoor shots at 1.30pm and the rain started at 1.35pm. This is one of my favourite shots from the day, although I must admit I got lots of great pictures that day.Tuesday, 8 September 2009

People Portrait

Model shoot at the weekend in lovely Backworth, a small village near Whitley Bay. The Model, Natasha, was very enthusiastic and professional throughout. The backdrop of a disused factory produced several very good opportunities, here's one of my favourites where she is framed by a broken window. The blurred grafitti in the background shows the decay. These shots will be used by the model for her portfolio. The red gloves were the Model's own personal touch.

Whitley Bay was the venue for a very cold and blustery model shoot. Fortunately she was made of stern stuff and we managed to get some great shots. As you can see the blue sky makes the day look fairly pleasant however just recognise that it is the wind blowing the hair and skirt.
This shot was one of several taken for her portfolio which she now uses to get modelling work across the area.
The history of Whitley Bay is typical of such holiday resorts. There had been a lighthouse at Whitley since medieval times, and in 1861 it was a coastal village with a mere 300 inhabitants. In the following year, however, when the railway station arrived it allowed easy access from Newcastle and further north, and the population began to explode. By 1901, it had reached around 6,800, a number swelled considerably during the summer holidays. By the turn of the century, to avoid confusion with another booming east-coast resort, the fishing port of Whitby in North Yorkshire, it had become known by its present name of Whitley Bay

What's happened?

That's the first wedding of the season completed. Valentine's Day what a romantic time to tie the know. However the British weather was very cold, it managed to stay dry. Anthony and Lauren are a wonderful young couple and both families were happy at the union. Lauren's dad was very comlimentary to his new son-in-law. A good time was had by all at the reception and of course the Bride looked beautiful on her big Day
