Hi Dave,

I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for everything!! The photographs were second to none and I could not fault any single thing about you. It was down to you that the day ran so smoothly and everyone who should have had a picture taken was there and standing where they should be, thanks to you!!

Having been to a wedding recently at the same venue as ours (Shotton Hall) the photographer used that day was nothing in comparison to you. He worked for a company and you could certainly tell as it didn’t feel personal the way ours did, you knew who was who, where they should be and exactly what was what - I now appreciate that a lot more having been at my friends’ wedding and witnessing the very chaotic photographs.

We feel you went above and beyond the normal duties of a photographer and made our day so special with perfect photographs we will cherish forever, not to mention your hardwork with our DVD footage (which our whole family loved by the way).

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone and everyone and will definitely be in touch for family portraits as our new family begins to grow.

A picture I shot at a wedding a while ago. Still one of my favourites even though everyone seems to be doing the wedding ring love heart thing. Would love to say I did it first but remember seeing it somewhere and just getting the inclination to recreate during down time at the wedding. Hope you like!!

I photographed the Wedding of a lovely couple, here's the feedback they sent me.

On the 26^th June 2010 I was married in Newcastle upon Tyne. Finding a photographer who would provide a service we were looking for at the right price proved very difficult. However, after looking at many websites I stumbled across David Bousfield. His website showing his work was impressive together with his personal profile.

David visited Kevin and I at our home to discuss our requirements. David was very professional, listened to what we said and provided valuable assistance when planning the day.

When the day arrived, David was waiting at the venue to greet me with a warm and encouraging smile. He was extremely professional both in his dress (smartly dressed in a suit befitting the occasion) and his interaction with the guests.

David’s rapport with the guests was outstanding. Everyone warmed to him immediately, my young grandchildren who had major roles to play in the ceremony and throughout the day posed beautifully for him, again a testament that they had taken a great liking to him.

We are delighted with the results; David has captured some really special moments between Kevin and I as well as our guests.

I can honestly say that David enhanced the success of our day. All of our guests commented on what a great guy he was and Kevin and I have no hesitation in recommending him.

Catherine and Iain

Catherine and Iain Feasby were married at St. Mary's in Whickham on Saturday. The marriage was witnessedby family and friends. A reception for the happy couple was hosted at Dissington Hall. My heart felt best wishes to the couple who are clearly very much in love.

Also huge congratulations to the speakers, the after dinner speaches were great if some of the visuals were slighty questionable.

Good luck to Catherine and Iain, long life and happiness.

Wedding Photographer - What make a good one?

So the wedding season is well and truly in full swing. Brides and Grooms walking down the isle and tying the knot. A wedding fayre (or is it fair) almost every week with all kinds of services on offer. I'm often asked what makes a good photographer, and I have a very simple response - Me - no that's just me being big headed.

A good photographer should listen to the couple be courteous with the guests and blend into the background when the focus should be on the bride and groom. The best compliment I have received was when a couple said they hardly noticed I was there and can't remember when I took the shots they were looking through.

Many photographers now turn up in scruffy clothes and bark orders at guests because their 'creativity' is being interupted. They shout at guests when they try to take their own pictures of the happy couple and herd people from one place to another like cattle. So that's probably the case for a bad - what makes a good one?

1. Prepared - check they have decent equipment, and backups and insurance!!
2. Experience - look at the pictures of past weddings they have attended
3. Package - look at an example of a full album, not just the best shots from a dozen weddings - this way you'll get a better idea of what your album will look like.
4. Dress - Ask them what they will wear, some photographers turn up in leggings that are too tight and scruffy t-shirts (thats just the men!!). They don't need to compete with the bride or groom but they shouldn't look like you dragged the nearest tramp off the street to take your pictures
5 Above all PERSONALITY - this person will be with you all day on the most important day of your life - if you don't get on with them you won't get the shots you want for your album, wall hanging, canvas or to send round facebook

Enagagement Shoot - Catherine and Iain

Engagement shoot with Catherine and Iain. Casual walk around Durham, the odd picture here and there and very pleased with the results. Catherine and Iain are to be Married next month in Whickham. I'm sure everything will go well.

This shot was on the way up to the Cathedral, an old doorway provides the backdrop.

Kerrie and Jon

Kerrie and Jon were married in Hexham and held a reception at Close House. They were joined by family and friends. Wishing you all luck and a great life together. From what your family and friends said, that is a certainty.
